Dissertation Work: The concept is to integrate Social Networking user discussions with Premium Broadcast or Demand Content. The First Product Experience

Building ‘Instabiller’ POS Product

It all began with the receipt of a handwritten invoice for my first assembled PC. Fueled by the eagerness to apply newfound software development skills, the support of an amazing partner, and the onset of semester-end holidays, this marked the beginning of a remarkable journey towards building our inaugural product.

This experience served as a pivotal moment in igniting my interest and setting the course for my career in product management. I attribute much of my career trajectory to this formative experience.

Our maiden project involved the development of a POS (Point of Sale) software product for the vendor. This encompassed gathering requirements and constructing various modules such as inventory management, billing, order processing, and invoicing. Remarkably, even in 1999 when our understanding of “product-building” was nascent, we managed to conceptualize and execute it as a cohesive product rather than a bespoke solution tailored solely for the vendor’s needs.

October 1998 to July 2002

Bachelor of Engineering

BMS College of Engineering

Studying Electrical and Electronics at BMS College of Engineering in Bangalore was an enriching experience. I developed a strong affinity for subjects like Electrical Circuits, Digital Electronics, and Power Electronics. The study of various programming languages alongside core electrical subjects sparked my interest in leveraging software programming for practical applications in electrical engineering. This experience greatly influenced my career direction and helped me refine my focus within the field. In my final year dissertation project, I played a significant role in constructing a simulation of the Numerical Negative Sequence relay. This endeavor allowed us to preemptively gather data to compare and analyze outcomes from electronic circuits.

They say no matter how tall you grow, your alma mater always towers over you. Since 2002, I have maintained a strong connection with the college, actively participating and contributing to various activities year after year. I have returned to conduct workshops, offer career guidance and mentoring, served as a jury member for events, and provided inputs for the curriculum, all while representing the alumni and industry.
